Evolution of Bibendum, the Michelin Man. Created in 1894, the tire-man is still being used today. Never retired.

With that joke out of the way—there was a garage in the village where I lived as a kid. In one of the windows sat a yellowed Bibendum doll. I wanted it, not because I found it pretty, but because it was a toy that lived in the world of adults and I vaguely felt it therefore belonged to me.
